Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Embankscape Equipment LLC dba RC Mowers ("RC Mowers," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the RC Mowers mobile application (the "App"). This policy applies specifically to the iOS App and is separate from any privacy policy that governs our websites.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Who This App Is For

The RC Mowers App is a commercial equipment management tool intended solely for authorized operators and employees of businesses that use RC Mowers autonomous mowing equipment. It is not directed to the general public or to children under the age of 16. If you are under 16, do not use this App.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the App, we collect:

  • Phone number — required to create and authenticate your account
  • First and last name — collected during account setup
  • Email address — optional, collected during account setup
  • Company and branch affiliation — used to associate your account with your employer's equipment
  • Mower PINs — the numeric PINs used to connect to specific mowers, stored in your account to enable quick reconnection
3.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we automatically collect:

  • Firebase User ID (UID) — a unique identifier assigned to your account by our authentication system
  • Device push token — used to send push notifications about mower status, faults, and progress
  • Live Activity tokens — temporary tokens used to display mowing progress on your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island
  • Mowing session data — GPS path history, progress percentage, timestamps, and status of mowing sessions executed through the App, stored in association with your account
  • App usage data — mower commands sent, plans assigned, and other interactions with connected equipment
  • Crash reports — if the App crashes, a report is sent to Firebase Crashlytics that includes your Firebase UID, email address, company ID, branch ID, and which mowers were connected at the time of the crash
3.3 Location Information

The App requests access to your device's precise location while the App is in use ("When In Use" only — not in the background). Your location is used solely on your device to sort mowers by their distance from you. Your precise location is not transmitted to our servers or stored.

Location access is optional. If you decline, all App features remain available; mowers will simply not be sorted by distance.

3.4 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect payment information, browsing history, contacts, photos, biometric data, or any information beyond what is described above. Your Face ID or device PIN are used locally by iOS for app unlock and are never transmitted to us.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your account session
  • Connect you to your authorized mowing equipment
  • Store your mowing preferences and default settings
  • Send push notifications about mower status, faults, progress, and alerts for equipment you are subscribed to
  • Display real-time mowing progress on your Lock Screen via Live Activities
  • Maintain records of mowing sessions for operational continuity (e.g., resuming an unfinished plan)
  • Diagnose crashes and technical issues to improve App stability
  • Associate your activity with your employer's account for equipment management purposes

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing profiling, or sale to third parties.

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 Service Providers

We share your information with the following third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

Google Firebase (Google LLC) — provides our authentication system (Firebase Auth), real-time database (Firestore), push notification delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics). Your account data, session history, push tokens, and crash reports are stored on Firebase infrastructure hosted in the United States. Google processes this data under its Firebase Data Processing Terms.

Google Cloud Run (Google LLC) — hosts the RC Mowers middleware server that the App communicates with to send commands and receive live mower data. This infrastructure is located in the United States.

These providers are only permitted to process your data as directed by us and may not use it for their own purposes.

5.2 Your Employer

Because this is a commercial equipment management tool, your name, account activity, mowing session records, and connected mower history may be visible to authorized administrators within your employer's account.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

5.4 Business Transfers

If RC Mowers or Embankscape Equipment LLC is acquired, merged, or sells substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure located in the United States. If you are located in Australia or Canada, your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

We protect your information using industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between the App and our servers
  • Firebase Security Rules limiting data access to authenticated users
  • iOS Keychain for secure local storage of authentication credentials
  • Access to production data restricted to authorized RC Mowers personnel

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. While we use reasonable security practices, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data and mowing session history for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days in Firebase Crashlytics.

Push notification tokens and Live Activity tokens are deleted automatically when you unsubscribe from notifications or when a Live Activity ends. If you request account deletion, we will delete your account data as described in Section 9.

8. Your Rights and Choices

8.1 Push Notifications

You can manage notification subscriptions within the App under your profile settings, or disable all notifications through your iPhone's Settings > Notifications > RC Mowers.

8.2 Location Access

You can revoke location access at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > RC Mowers. This will not affect any other App functionality.

8.3 Access and Correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or request that inaccurate information be corrected, by contacting us at the address in Section 11.

8.4 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data (name, phone number, email, mowing session history, notification subscriptions, and stored PINs) by emailing us at the address in Section 11 with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will process your request within 30 days. Note that your employer may retain operational records of mowing sessions separately from your personal account data.

9. Country-Specific Rights

9.1 Australian Users

If you are located in Australia, this App and your personal information are subject to the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You have the right to access and correct your personal information and to complain about alleged breaches of the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are not satisfied with our response to a complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Your data is transferred to and stored in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

9.2 Canadian Users

If you are located in Canada, your personal information is handled in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. You have the right to access your personal information and to withdraw consent to its collection or use (subject to legal or contractual restrictions) by contacting our Privacy Officer at the address in Section 11.

Quebec users: This policy is also available in French upon request. Your data is transferred to and stored in the United States. As required under Quebec Law 25, you are notified that your personal information may be communicated outside Quebec. The laws of the receiving jurisdiction may not provide the same protections as Quebec law.

9.3 California Users

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address in Section 11.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means before the changes take effect. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
